This year’s Year 8 Normandy trip was another huge success.

The MFL department took thirty-five learners to the Côte d’Opale on the north coast of France for four days. The itinerary included visits to:
- a Belgian chocolatier where the learners decorated their own bars of chocolate;
- a French baker’s where they watched baguettes being made and tried homemade pain au chocolat;
- a snail farm where we tried snail recipes containing cinnamon and chocolate, feta and tomato and the traditional garlic butter;
- a goat farm where we learned about the cheese-making process and the learners were able to pet the animals;
- a theme park in Belgium where the group had a fantastic time;
- a supermarket visit and a trip to the Nausicaa sea-life centre on the way home.
Mr Farrell said “The behaviour of the learners was impeccable, both in the accommodation and whilst we were out on our activities. They fully engaged with the spirit of the trip and worked hard to improve their communication skills in the foreign language. It was a pleasure to accompany them and, even though they’re probably a bit tired this week, I’m sure all the participants would agree that they had a really enjoyable time.”
