Congratulations to our Year 8 and Year 9 Go4SET Science teams!

massive well done goes to our Year 8 and Year 9 Science Teams, who entered the EDT Go4SET competition, competing against other schools from the North West. Learners had 10 weeks to work alongside engineers from the National Nuclear Laboratory and Arcadis to complete a project to design a new sports facility. At the end of week 10, learners submitted a technical report for their design and our learners achieved a Bronze Industrial Cadets Award. Last Wednesday, the teams took their completed projects to Daresbury yesterday to showcase them on a stand and presented their projects to a team of assessors. We are delighted to announce that our Year 8 team were the winners of the Most Innovative Design category, receiving a cup and certificate for our school.

The learners involved were: Year 9 – Catherine in 9RC, Thomas in 9BN, Jamie Pollard in 9KO, Stanley in 9CH, Chee in 9CH. And in Year 8 – Pedro and Michael in 8MJ, Whitney in 8CM, Erika in 8WG, Martha in 8EP and Charlotte 8KH.

Well done to each and every one of them and of course to Mrs Fullerton who worked with the learners on this project.
