Last Thursday, Birchwood Community HS echoed what was happening in the Uk by holding its own election ballot. At form times prior to election day, learners discussed the political manifestos, so that on Thursday they could make an informed decision on where to place their vote.

The results were:

Labour – 372 votes

Ukip – 97 votes

Conservatives – 92 votes

Green party – 50 votes

Liberal Democrats – 27 votes

As Mr Burnham put it “I think Birchwood Community High School is a safe Labour seat!”
