A new 3G pitch for Birchwood

We are delighted to announce we have applied for planning permission to refurbish our 3G pitch. The pitch has been closed since May 2017 but we are preparing a bid to the Football Foundation (the organisation who distribute the FA and Premier League funding) to upgrade the pitch to a state of the art 3G surface.

It will be a fantastic resource for the school and the community. We are in talks with local clubs including Birchwood Juniors and Woolston Rovers about how we can make the most of this opportunity.

Mr Burrows, Head of PE said, “I am delighted we are moving forward with this project. It is an exciting time for students in school and college. But it is also great news for grassroots football in Birchwood”.

The project will cost in the region of £350,000 and will include a new state of the art 3G surface, a new floodlighting system, new fencing and goalposts. We are currently developing our project bid and hope to have approval from the Football Foundation in July 2018.

We are asking the local community and local businesses to help with our share to the funding. If you are able to support please contact Alan O’Reilly (School Business Manager) aoreilly@birchwoodhigh.org to discuss opportunities for advertising or sponsorship.
